my experience
I began working with the ESPN+ crew in November 2023. Through this I experienced a different side of sports than my pervious role. In this position I was able to work different aspects of the job ranging from camera operation to graphics.
What I did
As part of the Longwood University ESPN+ Production Team, my primary task has been camera operations for live sports broadcasts including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, and field hockey. I report two hours prior to an event’s start time to set up production equipment and run cables. During the fast-paced live broadcasting, I actively communicate and collaborate with the director and team through a microphone headset while operating a camera. After the event is completed, I break down the equipment. Other ESPN+ media production roles I have performed include graphics and scoreboard on the program Vizrt.
